Winter Jasmine

Jasminum nudiflorum

4.7(54 reviews)

Winter Jasmine is one of the most cheerful sights in the winter garden. Its bright yellow flowers appear on bare, arching green stems from November right through to March, providing colour when almost nothing else is in bloom. It is fully hardy, easy to grow, and looks spectacular trained against a wall or fence.

Care Guide

How to care for your Winter Jasmine

Quick Care Steps

1

Training

Train stems against a wall or fence with ties. It does not self-cling.

2

Pruning

Prune after flowering in spring — cut back flowered shoots to strong buds.

3

Feeding

Apply a balanced fertiliser in spring after pruning.

4

Watering

Water regularly until established. Mature plants are drought-tolerant.

Common Issues & Fixes

Few flowers

Needs more sun. Move to a sunnier aspect.

Straggly growth
